In August of 2000, I moved from Los Angeles to Chicago to pursue an education in Interior Design. While studying at what was then a small private school, Harrington College of Design, I needed to furnish my apartment and life. Having little time and less money but high standards I found myself shopping at local antique malls and thrift stores. I gravitated toward a specific design aesthetic, one that was familiar yet somehow fresh and exciting.

Modernist objects particularly from the mid-20th century appealed to my design ethos and sensibilities. These items perfectly combined the basic tenets of good design; quality material & construction, form, usefulness, scale, and proportion.

My collection quickly outgrew my space and as all new dealers, I had to start selling the overflow. Initially I sold out of the same antique malls I still frequented and purchased from. After several years and collecting even more items in storage, I finally opened my design showroom and studio. In 2015 Quest Modern Design opened in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago. Shortly after opening, we were honored to be accepted as a dealer through 1stdibs and Decaso respectively. In 2016 we were included in Architectural Digest's “10 Chicago Shops You Don’t Want To Miss” In 2017 Curbed Chicago “1 of 28 Must-See Chicago Furniture and Interior Design Stores”. That same year we relocated our showroom to the West Town neighborhood.

In 2020, as it did for everyone, the world changed. So did the need for a brick-and-mortar location. We closed our showroom and continued selling out of a warehouse location in Portage Park. Around the same time, I focused my attention on freelance interior design projects in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. These efforts along with spending more time with family meant putting selling/buying on hold.

As of 2025 and after a long hiatus, I’m thrilled to share this carefully curated collection. I hope you find the perfect or unexpected item to cherish for many years to come.
